Waiting for an appointment

After triage, we only see low risk skin conditions in the Circle Dermatology service - any referrals for possible cancer are sent to the hospital.

This means that if you're waiting to see us in the Circle Dermatology service, please be reassured that your skin condition has been triaged as low-risk.

Current waiting times

We use our specialist dermatology experience, and the information in your referral, to decide the best next step for you.  This can sometimes differ from what your GP told you to expect (for example a particular treatment, or how quickly you need to be seen), but please don’t worry if so.

There are several different clinic types within the Dermatology service.  Our current waiting times are as follows:

  • Consultant initial consultation: xx weeks
  • GPwER initial consultation: xx weeks
  • Specialist Nurse initial consultation: xx weeks
  • Minor Operations: xx weeks
  • Phototherapy: xx weeks
  • Biologics, DMARDs and Isotretinoin: xx weeks
