In 2014, Circle started the UK's first ever fully integrated MSK in Bedfordshire followed by similar services in Greenwich and Rushcliffe.
Moreover, Circle uses high quality clinical technology such as APOSTherapy® for patients with chronic pain from osteoarthritis of the knee or hip. This is a boot like device used by patients as an alternative to surgery designed to improve their posture, alignment and walking pattern.
We offer community MSK physiotherapy services, that can be tailored to suit the needs of your local population. As a company that strives to improve access to great care for all patients, we are able to utilise a range of digital, telephone and face to face treatment options, which are offered dependent on patient need, and where appropriate patient choice. We use robust clinical outcome measures to ensure the care delivered is of the utmost clinical standards and use the outcomes to highlight, recognise and learn from excellent patient care.
Our community assessment clinics, often referred to as tier 2 services, provide expert assessment for MSK conditions. This approach allows for assessment and care co-ordination close to peoples’ homes and reduced the pressure on our secondary care colleagues, ensuring patients with a clinical need are referred on to the appropriate service. This ensure that care is provided by the right person, at the right time.
These clinics are multi-disciplinary and our allied health professional teams of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and osteopaths work closely with nurses and medical colleague to provide great care. Patient are assessed, treated and referred for diagnostics where clinically appropriate and we track effectiveness of our clinical pathways using patient reported outcome measures and use our expertise in care delivery in this field to ensure referral rates are in line with expectations, so that other elements of the healthcare system are used appropriately and based on clinical need. We believe in great access to care, so offer virtual or in-person appointments as appropriate/desired – offering shared decision making at every stage, ensuring our patients are part of the decision making process for their care.
With the firm belief that great care should be easy to access, referrals into the service are accepted directly from GPs, Consultants and self-referral. Our online platform for self-referral allows patients to refer themselves to us 24-7, often with an immediate decision on where their care would be best placed – informing the patient straight away. Where this is not possible, one of our clinical team review the information provided and review this within 1 day – to ensure that the triage process is safe, effective and quick, so treatment can commence as soon as possible. We have digital options that are able to commence care immediately – a fantastic offering for people with simple MSK complaints.
We deliver community Rheumatology clinics, utilising the multi-disciplinary team to assess and treat patients with suspected Rheumatological conditions. We also work to support our local NHS trusts and currently support the delivery of community early inflammatory arthritis clinics, to ensure patients are seen both close to home and within the timeframes set out by NICE to minimise the long-term impacts that a delayed diagnosis of inflammatory can cause.
In addition to assessing patients in our community assessment clinics, we work with Orthopaedic consultants as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. This means we’re able to use expert knowledge wisely and develop excellent working relationships with local NHS trusts and independent sector consultants, to ensure we’re able to provide expert levels of care across the clinical team. This means fewer unnecessary appointments for patients and appropriate care more quickly.
We offer complete multi-disciplinary pain services, with Consultants, Nurse, Physiotherapist and Clinical Psychology input. This holistic approach means that care can be tailored for patients where surgical options may not be possible. In addition to 1:1 assessments with members of the MDT, we offer both online and in-person pain management programmes, which patients can choose dependent on which route suits them best. This ensures that great care is accessible to all, even those who may find it challenging to attend appointments in person.
Our comprehensive dermatology offerings mean that care can be delivered in the community, by expert clinicians. Our services stand out from other providers, with full pathways delivered in the community, including light therapy, minor surgery and management of disease modifying drugs (DMARDS) to treat a range of dermatological conditions.
