Change of MSK Service Provider from 1st October 2026

From 1st October 2026, Cora Health will become the new provider of musculoskeletal (MSK) services in Bedfordshire.

Until 30th September 2026, Circle will continue to provide appointments and treatment, but some patients may still be waiting for an appointment when the transfer takes place.

We are working closely with Cora Health to ensure a smooth and safe transition for all patients.

For advice on staying as fit and well as possible while you wait for an appointment, please visit our "Looking after yourself" page.

What happens if I still need care after 1st October?

We understand that changes like this can be worrying but want to reassure you that, with your consent, we can securely transfer your referral to Cora Health. so your care can continue with as little disruption as possible.

If your care is expected to continue after 1st October 2026, we will contact you before the transfer by email (unless you have asked us to contact you by letter) to explain what it means for you and how we will keep your records safe, and to ask if you are happy for us to share relevant care records with Cora Health.

The transfer will affect you if you:

  1. Have not yet had your first MSK appointment
  2. Are waiting for a follow-up appointment
  3. Are waiting for tests such as an X-ray, MRI or blood test
  4. Are on a Patient Initiated Follow-Up (PIFU) pathway that continues beyond 1st October 2026

You do not need to do anything if you are happy for your care records to be shared with Cora Health.  Cora Health will contact you after 1st October to arrange an appointment.

However, if you do not want your referral and care records to be transferred, please see the relevant section below for more details.

Patients on a Patient Initiated Follow-Up (PIFU) pathway

The information above also applies if you have already attended a Circle clinic and are on a Patient Initiated Follow-Up (PIFU) pathway that continues beyond 1st October 2026.

If you need to a follow-up before 30th September, please contact Circle and we will advise next steps for you: this will take into account the plan from when you last saw us and your current symptoms.  If you need an appointment and we don't have any available before 30th September, we will let Cora Health know that you need to be seen.

If you need a follow-up after 1st October, you should contact Cora Health (and not Circle). We will provide you with the contact details for Cora Health when we write to you.

What will happen after 1st October?

If you are happy for your care and records to be transferred to Cora Health when we write to you, you do not need to do anything – we will manage the transfer for you.

If you are on a PIFU pathway and would like to arrange an appointment after 1st October, please contact Cora Health directly.

If you are expecting MSK care for a new referral or a follow-up, and have not heard from Cora Health by 26th November, please contact them directly, using the information we provide in your letter.

What happens if I don't want you to share my records with Cora Health?

Circle will no longer deliver the MSK service in Bedfordshire after 30th September 2026 - Cora Health will become the new provider.

If you have an active referral with Circle (including PIFU) you can choose not to have your care records transferred to Cora Health.  If you do this:

  • You will be discharged from the MSK service.
  • Your GP will take over your care.
  • Your GP can discuss the best options for your health needs.
  • If you need MSK support in the future, your GP will need to refer you to Cora Health.

Please be aware that choosing not to have your records transferred may mean that you lose your place on the waiting list, as you will have been discharged and will need a new referral.

If you do not want us to share your care records with Cora Health, we will ask you to let us know by contacting us after we write to you.
